1. Q. Are FMI vehicles crash tested?
A. YES! FMI has done extensive crash testing on its vehicles and we pride ourselves on the fact that ALL of the vehicles tested have passed on the first try! Look for the “SAFETY CERTIFIED” seal of approval. We’d be happy to provide you with copies of our actual crash test data upon request. We encourage you to ask our competition to do the same. 2. Q. Does the FMI conversion void the original manufacturers warranty?
A. Absolutely not! If your vehicle is new, you will have full factory warranty benefits. Depending on their mileage, most of our used vehicles still have the remainder of the factory warranty intact. In addition, FMI offers additional full warranty coverage on its wheelchair accessible conversions. Extended warranty coverage is available for purchase on most of our vehicles.
3. Q. Where do I go for service on my FMI vehicle?
A. FMI vehicles are basically maintenance free but just in case, we maintain a large national network of service providers for our conversion customers. Our mobility specialists can assist you in introducing you to your local mobility mechanic. Any repairs on the vehicle itself can be accomplished at your local dealership.
4. Q. How long has FMI been in business?
A. Freedom Motors has been converting vehicles for over 25 years! In fact, FMI introduced North America to the rear-entry van configuration in 1985. 5. Q. Can I have my personal vehicle converted or do I have to purchase the chassis from FMI?
A. While we have a large inventory of unconverted chassis for you to choose from, you can have your personal vehicle converted provided it is a vehicle we are able to convert. Unlike our competitors who sometimes bill their customers $3500.00 or more for supplying their own vehicles, FMI DOES NOT CHARGE YOU ANY EXTRA FEES FOR PROVIDING YOUR OWN CHASSIS.
6. Q. Will I save money by buying factory direct?
A. Yes! By purchasing factory direct, you eliminate the “middle man”. This can save you thousands! It’s common practice for mobility dealers add thousands of dollars to the original price.
